Adult Services Program Manager 2006 – Present

Clinical direction, supervision and management of Compass Health services for both Whidbey and Camano Islands. Responsibilities include clinical supervision and training of staff by providing access, time, and best practices in supervision for each clinician. Provide appropriate and effective consultation to staff regarding client crises, e.g. suicidal risk; threatening, abusive, or destructive behavior; hospitalization; resources, family based services. Develop staff skills in collaborating with clients to mental health rehabilitation and insure that deficits in staff training are addressed through supervision, in-service training, and other professional training. Remain well-informed and current on the literature regarding ongoing developments in the treatment of mental illnesses, particularly in community support, in-home therapeutic family intervention, residential and vocational programming. Facilitate student interns from several universities for the benefit of creating a learning and stimulating environment. Provide psychiatric, clinical and staff supervision for students. Maintain an approach to staff recruitment and supervision which carries out equal employment and affirmative action policies. Direction of clinical program responsibility includes guiding and monitoring agency programs to maintain compliance with government, state and county contracts. Conduct program screenings and coordination of intake procedures. Assure that financial arrangements of consumers are in order and that staff perform advocacy for the consumers in the public assistance system. Manage a budget of approximately 1.8M. Oversee IT system acquisition and roll-out. Oversee follow-up services for discharged consumers. Evaluate programs, prepare and submit narrative and statistical reports on program activities. Perform supervision of clinical records which are audited monthly and annually and insure the quality assurance process. Develop and monitor clinical files to insure that they satisfy all requirements of State WAC codes and that each consumer has treatment and service plans designed collaboratively for their needs. Foster cooperative working relationships with support staff and direct service staff across programs. Maintain effective working relationships with referral sources, community resources, hospitals, doctors and other mental health professionals.

Designed, developed, implemented and administered organization wide programs designed to effect cultural change in employee performance, retention and customer satisfaction.
